Applying for a Council Vacancy
All of our current job vacancies are listed at the bottom of this page.
Listed on each vacancy page is the advert for the position and a set of downloadable documents. The downloadable documents will include the application form, job context and job role specification, together with a copy of the guidance notes to assist you in completing your application form, which is also available online by clicking here.
Where possible, we ask that you obtain application documents directly from the website. We understand, however, that this is not always possible. If you are experiencing difficulties obtaining the documents online, you can request a hard-copy application pack to be posted to you. To request a hard-copy application pack, please email your details to email@example.com.
Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974
Selby District Council aims to provide equality of opportunity for all with the right mix of talent, skills and potential. The Council welcomes applications from diverse candidates. Criminal records will be taken into account for recruitment purposes only when the conviction is relevant. Unless the nature of the work demands it, candidates will not be asked to disclose convictions which are ‘spent’ under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Having an ‘unspent’ conviction will not necessarily bar a candidate from employment. This will depend on the circumstances and background to the offence(s).
We are committed to equality of opportunity. For information regarding our equal opportunities, please click here to be redirected to our dedicated page.
